No Spend Day (NSD)

NSD - across the household

I was preparing to go take care of my mom, and the schedule was switched on me at the last minute.  I ended up staying one extra day (that I hadn't planned for).

I was mostly dreading everything about this.  The last time I stayed with my mom was just after she was released from the hospital 2 years ago.  My Dad had a trip planned, that he refused to change.  My Dad isn't honest with himself about my mom's mental state, and so I don't expect much honesty.  No idea what to expect, 2 years further down the dementia road.

Happy to report that we had a really nice time, she was much more clear headed.  I was so surprised with how *easy* last year was on this front.  Not expecting an 'easier' year after a decade of mental decline.  So it was more of the same.   & of course, extra cherished as I wan't expecting more good times with my mom (ever).
